The last year for a body-and-frame Imperial was 1966. For 1967 they switched to unibody, using Mopar's C body as a base. Do not know if the swivel seats from a 1960 will fit a 1959. Theoretically it should be possible as the bodies are the same. The seat are different in that the 1959 models swung out when you moved a lever on the seat. The 1960 models had a Belden cable rigged up so the seats swung when the doors were opened. That is the part that may be a bit of fun to set up on a 1959 model if you use 1960 seats. The 1960-style seats were also available in 1961. As to the folding mechanism on the two-door models, that would require re-engineering the way the seatback attaches to the seat cushion. The two door and four door versions are totally different. However, with the seat swivelling out, there may be enough room to maneuvre without folding the seatback forward. It appeared to have swivel seats with the center large arm rest just like a '59. Anyone know if these really are the same as '59? Since Imperial didn't go to unibody until '64, I suppose they could carry them over but I need to be sure before purchasing. Is there some place that unbolts on the 4door seats to let them fold over like 2door seats to allow entry to the rear seat if installed in a 2door car?? Help appreciated.
