I agree. Sitting on frozen vinyl seats in an older car is a very bad idea. When vinyl gets very cold, it gets very brittle. When you sit on it, it cracks. Over the years those cracks will open into rips. I once placed my briefcase flat on the seat beside me in a 73 Plymouth Scamp. The blunt corner cracked a round one inch hole right through the seat vinyl. But then I think it was minus 10 or colder that day. A couple weeks ago I went out and sat in mine in a 0 degree garage and a threaded seam in the vinyl separated - about 2 in long. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marv Raguse" <MJRAGUSE@xxxxxxx> To: <L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, February 02, 2003 9:15 PM Subject: Re: [FWDLK] Driving my DeSoto > In a message dated 2/2/2003 8:07:27 PM Central Standard Time, > tailfins@xxxxxxxxxxxxx writes: > > << Well, it finally warmed up to about 40 here on Long Island today, and maybe > the upper 40's tomorrow!
