We here in the North have to wait until the spring rains come and melt all the snow, but in particularly wash all the salt off the roads so it don't get on the cars. My coworker last fall took his brand new Harley out for a spin and started noticing these white specks on the shinny black bike. He was following a truck and backed off because something was leaking from it. We found out later it was salty brine from the oil well around here they were putting on the roads so when it snowed, the salt would already be on the pavement. He quickly took and washed every piece of bike--what a mess he had. Jack in hot and humid 29 degree Shinglehouse, Pa--I forgot it got this warm. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ross Klein" <tailfins@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, February 02, 2003 9:00 PM Subject: Re: [FWDLK] Driving my DeSoto > Well, it finally warmed up to about 40 here on Long Island today, and maybe > the upper 40's tomorrow!
