Owners
Just to confirm, on my dash the upper is battery, the lower oil pressure
warning. The wire for the oil is the white one and the amp is red, just on the
faint hope somone plugged the sockets into the wrong holders. Hope its not too
serious.

Hi
all,
Could someone re-assure me. I have neither an owner's manual
or a shop manual specific to the '56. While driving it this afternoon one of
the idiot lights came on while the car was stopped at a traffic light with
the tranmission engaged. The lights are stacked and it was the
bottom one that lit up. I hope that this is the generator warning
light, as the last time I had this experience it was with an oil pressure
light on my '66 Fury (318). Although the light would go off with an
increase in revs, the diagnosis that time was that I had spun a
bearing. Today the light went out as soon as I put the transmission in
neutral (RPMs picked up). If it's the oil pressure light I'm going to
need to increase my dossage of Prozac! All of this is happening while
I am ge! tting ready to spring for an alternator for my daily driver after
many other recent expensive repairs.
If the generator on the
Plymouth is what's causing the idiot light to come on (only after driving
for a while I might add), would anyone recommend converting to an alternator
for that car?
Thanks in advance for your generous
advice.
