The 1958 American Plymouth engine line-up was : Fury V-800 : 318-cid V8 - 1-2 bbl carb - all models except Fury Fury V-800 with Super-Pak : 318-cid V8 - 1-4 bbl carb - optional all models except Fury Dual Fury V-800 : 318-cid V8, 2-4 bbl carbs - Fury series only Golden Commando : 350-cid V8, 2-4 bbl carbs - optional all models The 1957 American Plymouth engine line-up was : 277-cid V8, 1-2 bbl carb - Plaza series only Fury 301 V8 : 301-cid V8 1 2-bbl carb - Belvedere, Savoy and Suburban (optional Plaza) Fury 301 with Super-Pak : 301-cid V8, 1-4 bbl carb - optional all but Fury Fury V-800 : 318-cid V8, 2-4 bbl carb - Fury series (optional all other series) So, I would say 1958 was the first year Plymouth used the "Golden Commando" or "Commando" name on their engines.
