I guess the thing that lends credence to these legends is the documented fact that Chrysler 300s, for example, could be ordered with custom colors. And in the case of one 300C, a two-tone paint job with Plymouth Fury-like trim. Also, a while back, there was talk on the list of a 'custom shop' at Chrysler.
