Chris,
Personal opinion
re 'loading' a Plain Jane........why not? This 'great-granddaddy of all the
Mopars' ( attributed to Lefty, aka Mr Larry Jett, California MoPar
fiend) ), should be loaded to the max with every doo-dad you can get
for it. Correct per the build sheet it will not be, but again, you are
sure not diminishing the value by adding those extras. They are desirable ones.
My
'60 Chrysler has a 5 button radio ordered from the dealer, on the build sheet.
When I got it, it had the 7 button deluxe radio, with foot control.
No
idea when it was changed over, but I am not going looking for a 5 button just
because it is on the build sheet.
I would also like a Mirror-matic for my car, a new or very nice
used green plexiglass visor (2196875) would be warmly welcomed if only
I could find one, wouldn't mind Auto-Pilot either, except that it won't fit under
the hood.
If one
was that strict about originality, one probably wouldn't have a locking gas
cap. These were MoPar accessories, never heard of a FWLK car with one from the
factory, but I'm sure somewhere out there, someone has a build sheet with
'locking gas cap' punched in to the old IBM card.
From
what I glean Chris, you wouldn't want someone sucking out the Imp's gas tank in
the UK. Time for another peasants revolt !!
So, my
.02 cents worth, load it up to the gills !!!!
Dave.
