[FWDLK] Arrival of the '56 Savoy

Hello list,
The '56 Savoy 4 dr. arrived tonight.  Linsay King picked it up himself and kept in regular touch along the way.  He delivered it sooner than promised.  No complaints whatsoever, and the price was very reasonable. No hidden charges. I would certainly recommend him based on my own experience.

The car is going to be in need of a few things, but mechanically it runs great.  In the trunk I found a continental wheel.  However, I don't know if it was ever on the car. Couldn't identify any mounting assembly.  Personally I wouldn't put one of these on a 4 dr sedan.  Also a pair of fender skirts which were on the car.    

Don't have any significant cash to throw at it immediately, but here are some things that it will need over time:

 1.)  The P-L-Y-M-O-U-T-H letters for the hood.
 2.)  A neutral safety switch
 3.)  A driver's door lock assembly
 4.)  new springs 

Some surprises:  It has a windshield washer bag under the hood.  Don't know if it has a working pump.  Anybody know how these worked in '56? 

The interior has been treated to a new headliner (vinyl) at some point and there are nice seat covers on the seats.  The steering wheel is white and darn close to perfect.  
Like my '55 and most of the rest of these cars, the top half of the horn ring broke off long ago.  There is some rust in the body, but not too bad.  However, before long I will need to get some new sheet metal for the quarter panel above the right rear wheel.  Can anybody recommend a source for patch panels?         

Finally, before the rust advances any further, I would like to treat the trunk and the floor boards with Por 15.  I know a lot of the list members have used this.  Is it brushed on?

Well, I'm excited about my new acquisition.  First step will be to install 3 point seat belts. Anybody done this before?  The J.C.Whitney catalog has them for $95.00 ea.  Don't know if the local Ziebart folks carry these.  Even though the paint has a lot of scratches and surface rust, I may take a buffer to it anyway, just to see what comes up.
