I have in one of my zillions of magazines, a small
article, including a pic or two on this car. I think it is in a "Chrysler
Power",which is now defunct, not sure 100%, and not going
sorting....... but, it describes how Al Scheib found the '57 Fury somewhere
in California as he was driving around one day, and paid, I think $600 for it.
This was pre 1994, as that is the magazine's date stuck in my brain.
He then sold the engine, and dual 4 setup to some 'restorer', and the
drivetrain, then threw in a huge cube Keith Black hemi, tubbed the hell out
of it and either supercharged, or nitrous'ed it !! He refused to fit
a roll cage , so could never try it down the 1/4 legally, but I recall that it
was rumoured that he did do it somewhere, by the light of the moon, and was in
the 9's.
Sorry for such vagueness. The
car was California street legal too, as I recall.
