Re: [FWDLK] Gas gauge/tank ground

To FWDLK-ers
I liked the gas gauge/tank stories...here's mine (non
FWDLK but ground relevant):

I have Brand Fxxx hot rod truck (with 340/Volare, etc)
but struggled getting the S-W gas gauge to work...it
would blip on once in a while, then not work. I
confess to driving for close to 45,000 miles while not
getting it solved. I had the old stock tank from in
the cab positioned in the front of the box...and
carried A STICK to dip into the tank to check it when
I couldn't see the level!!!!! (Primitive, but I swear
it really works!)

Anyway, numerous times I had run ground wires from the
tank to frame, body, etc. to no avail. Then recently
while driving down a back road I was reaching under
the dash messing with the wires (eyes on road), and
sure enough, when I pulled on the gauge ground it
would blip back on (bad connection in crimp
connector!). I had checked continuity on this once or
twice but must have pulled on the wire to do it.
Nearly drove me crazy until I finally accepted driving
around with the stick.

Check, check, and triple check the ground! Sanity
somewhat restored....(if you can call this sanity!)
