[FWDLK] 1959 DeSoto Power Steering Update

Hi All,

I tried flushing out that power steering system tonight, and it worked
beautifully... in doubling the amount of force it pulls to the left! Oh
well. I also adjusted the valve body up and down to no effect.

The service manual staes that the other remaining causes could be a
loose column support spanner nut (it's tight), and a bad valve lever. I
have a spare unit here from a '58 Plymouth, so I pulled and disassembled
that spare valve body, and started to clean it out. I'll try swapping
over the whole valve body at a later time and keep y'all posted on the
results. Of course, if anyone has any other suggestions in the
meantime, by all means let me know!

-Dave
