Hi Mike -

That's why I leave it to the experts.  The guys I use media blast aircraft
parts and other sensitive materials.  They are pros at adjusting the PSI so
that nothing warps, even thin, straight 22 ga sheetmetal.  For something
like an intake manifold, a chemical strip followed by sanding may be
time-consuming.  BTW, I use the term 'sandblast' generically to mean media
blasting (grit, plastic, glass bead, etc.).
