I seem to remember when he died in the early '70s, one of his personal cars was still a 300-F. I also remember reading a piece he wrote for something other than Mechanix Illustrated about '60 or so, where he was expressing sorrow over the lack of performance stuff since the Automobile Manufacturers Association's 1957 ban on factory race teams, but went on to say that there was one exception in Detroit ("the company founded by one Walter P. Chrysler")... > As long as I'm On the line I would like to invite FL > list members to drop by our stalls at The Turlock > swap on Jan 26-27. It is stalls numbered BB 10 and > 11. If the 300-K is up to the trip I think Nick Nichols & I will probably show up in it. Glad to hear where some MoPar stuff is, as it seems like we went thru everything else last year before finding it. Always very cool stuff at Turlock. I still think with some longing of the very nicely done '61-or-so Continental pickup (shortened roof and what looked like a '59 Ranchero bed) that some lucky soul picked up for $1800 (IIRC). ===== Mike Sealey, San Francisco CA '57 Plymouth Sport Suburban '64 Chrysler 300-K 2dr Hardtop __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
