Ed - I saw one of these on a tank that I removed from a 57 Plymouth. It holds the filler tube to the lip on the gas tank. They did away with it in '58, so its probably not critical. You may have to locate one in the local boneyard. They are usually rusty. I ended up cutting off the one on the 57 Plymouth, just so I could get the tank out. >From 58 Plymouth TSB #2, dated Dec. 12, 1957 : "The clamp previously used to attach the fuel filler tube to the fuel tank has been omitted on 1958 models.
