Roger,
The 318-cid V8 is an "A" block engine, the 413-cid V8 is an "RB" block
enigne and the 361-cid V8 is a "B" block engine. I suspect your best bet
would be to locate another "B" engine with a/c and use the parts off it.
The "B" engine came as 350, 361, 383 and 400 cid. The 350 is very
rare (only used 1958) while the 400 is a 1970's motor.
If you are looking at Chryslers, the 361 was used in 1961-1964 Newports
while the "B" block 383 was used in the 1961 Windsor, 1965 and up
Newports and 300 series from 1962 - until the 383 was replaced by the
400. DeSoto and the big 122" wheelbase Dodges also used the 361 and
the "B" block 383 from 1958 to 1961. The American-built 1959-1960
Windsor and Saratoga used an "RB" block 383, basically a small bore 413, so
it would not be much help.
Both 361 and 383 V8 engines were also available as options in the
Plymouth and Plymouth-sized Dodge Dart from 1960. And the
1962-1964 Dodge 880/Custom 880 had a 361.
Hopefully that will help open a possibilities for you.

Subject: [FWDLK] a/c
Hello List
I have been strugging
mightily with bolting on the factory a/c to a 59 Plymouth. factory a/c
was available in 1959 for the Plymouth, but few were outfitted with
it.
I purchased my factory a/c from a salvage yard in
Idaho.
The Plymouth car was a 318. I am trying to attach
it to a 361.
When I realised the bracketing was so differnt, I requested
a photo of a 361 w/ a/c. Apparently nobody has that photo.
I located a 1963 chrysler with a/c, a 413, so I took the
compressor off that car. The bracketry does not fit. Does anybody know which
car I need to locate (other than 59 Ply, thank you) which will have the
correct parts for my situation?
