Some folks are very proud of their restoration efforts, and want to show off their work. Some folks buy their car already restored and therefore have enough money to pay such high entry fees. A few folks have pristine original condition (unrestored)cars. Some people enter their car in concours shows, subjecting themselves to a heap of criticism. If your car is not perfect, you had better have a thick skin... I figure it is all in what you are willing to put up with. As for me, I say keep it casual! My car will never be good enough for me to subject myself to a formal judging. But you didnt have to leave the show! You could have parked outside the gate, paid the spectator fee, and enjoyed the show stress-free. After a 3+ hour drive, I would have wanted to get something out of it!Of course you had a great drive and turned lots of heads in the process...
