Long as we're on the topic of brakes, I seem to think this may have been addressed before, but I can't find anything in the archives that seems to go along with my particular problem. I've got disc brakes in the front, drums in the rear (considering tracking down rear discs-should be considerably easier-any thoughts on sources/prices?). I have a dual master cylinder from a 1970 full size Chrysler. There are two holes for the lines, obviously one for the rears, and one for the fronts. Does this mean I don't need a proportioning valve? I know what they are and what they do, but I can't see any way to reasonably use one with the new master cylinder. Is this master cylinder designed for this type of setup? I'm attempting to finish the car up in the coming month (not that the end is EVER in sight...).
