My problem is that the filter is positioned on its side due to lack of room.  I have had problems with vapor lock and I believe it is at least partly due to the fuel filter being too close to the engine.

On my 57 Plymouth 301 2bbl, the glas bowl filter is what connects the carb to the line from the pump. It is right up there, basically on the carburetor.

Does anyone have a picture they could email me showing the layout of the filter, glass bowl type, in the engine compartment?  The fuel setup on my desoto is not right but I am not sure what the original scheme was.
