Richard replied he had no luck in finding the Fram K21 Oil
Filter adapter locally in parts stores - this happened to me also. A
few months ago I tried to get this part at the local Checker store in town - the
2 guys behind the counter didn't know what I was talking about and couldn't find
the part in their computer. Recently I had the opportunity to check
with another Checker store about 50 miles from the other one. I mentioned
the part # and what it was for and the LADY behind the counter hit a few buttons
on her computer and said "$11.95 - I can have it for you by tomorrow". So
for the most part, success in finding these parts depends on the guy or gal
behind the counter. At the local NAPA store here in town we have the same
problem. If one particular guy is on duty by himself I won't even bother
to ask him if he has the part because I know I'll get that disconcerning look
and reply "we wouldn't have anything like that" without even checking the big
selection of parts books on the desk. Another parts store in town
has a cartoon on the wall that shows a fellow trying to buy parts and the parts
guy says "Sir, pointing to the part on the shelf won't help, the computer says
we don't have it". And then when you do find a good helpful parts guy, its
like a good barber, next time you go back they've moved on to something
else. John Z in Mosinee, WI
