[FWDLK] 56 Dodge jack instructions

Mike,

The jack is secured with the base attached to the jack "shaft". It goes behind the tire with the jack handle socket up. A spring is hooked to the ratcheting part of the jack in a small hole, with the other end hooked in a hole in a bracket behind the tire. When the jack is ratcheted "up", the spring is tightened, securing the jack.

The tire is held in place, white wall side out, with a formed "bar" across the large center hole of the wheel. The edges of the bar are bent 90 degrees to position it in the center of the wheel. The "stud" attached to the wheel well goes through a hole in the bar and is secured with a large wing nut.

My mistake on the previous message...What I am looking for is the tie down bolt (not screw) that holds the jack base and spare tire down in the trunk...Still need to know where the base should be positioned...thanks,

I am looking for the tie down screw that holds the jack base and spare tire down in the trunk...I have the complete jack assemble but am missing the winged screw...Also, does anyone know where the jack base is secured on the wheel...Does the bolt come out through the center conecting to the base with the screw tighening down the complete assembly?  The one piece of the pussle I haven't been able to figure out...In the mean time, if anyone has an extra screw, I would certainly like to buy it...thanks....
