All,
An engine equipted with a PCV unit still requires a
crankcase inlet vent/filter to work. Do not block off the filler/vent. The
Polution Control Valve regulates the amount of vacuum being used for various
engine use conditions. I could post a section of the MoPar emissions control
section that outlines the history and function of the system if requested. Most
MoPars from 1963 to about 1967 used a cap that had the PCV unit mounted in it
that directly replaces the draft tube. But you still need the filler cap/vent. I
have one on my 1958 Golden Commando engine. Direct Connection may sell
one.
