Lars & all, Sorry I missed you at the show Saturday but it was a fine show and I agree with you about the weather and the FOOOOOOd! There were lots of FWDLK cars including several letter cars including a fine black 300F ragtop that really made the day for me! The other letter cars were also nice as was that 57 DeSoto Adventurer and the '57 Fireflite ragtop! Only a single '58 Dodge 2dr h/t (Coronet Spring Special with all the gee gaws!) was there representing that Division from the Ex era. As to the T&C cars, the two early barrel backs ('41 & '42) were really primo examples and fit in well with the later '47 and '48 versions. Always liked that plaid cloth! Did anyone see the maroon metallic customized '62 Imperial that was shortened to a 2 pass coupe? The rear doors and roof removed and sectioned out with an El Camino type roof then reattached to the standard rear end - with a continental tire!!! What a sight! There was also a very nice display of mid '50s Imperial sedans including a custom '55 limo which was an interesting comparison to Lloyd VerHage's Airflow of the same dark navy blue. There were a few '60s hemi cars and a Cuda but not much of a representation from the performance guys. This was definitely a show for collectors. There was a nice display of trucks too from the 30s to the 50s. Barb & I had a nice chat with the owner of one '32 or '33 Dodge pickup who also was the owner of the '57 DeSoto Fireflite convert - which he sold at the show! (Sorry I don't remember his name, but he had other cars at the show too). The swap meet was well stocked and had the usual crowds picking and bickering over a good selection of parts. Gilmore in Hickory Corners, MI is a wonderful place for a National meet. As the site of the Classic Car Club Museum it offers everyone the opportunity to see many of the Classic Cords, Duesies, Lincolns and other exotics in the Red Barn Exhibits. The (new) old Shell gas station was an additional plus which became a drawing card for everyone to get their car photographed in front by the old pumps. The building of the Shell gas station was due largely to the efforts of Dick Saddler's unrelenting push over the last 10 years! All in all a wonderful show!
