As far as I know, the casting number on the block of a 57 Fury 318 engine should read 1737-929. However, I would also be keen to learn how you tell a 301 from a 318, as I have always been led to believe that they used the same blocks for 318 as 301, only increasing the cubic inches by increasing the stroke, with the same bore. (So measuring the cylinders would not be a clue either.) Anyone? Glenn. 57 Fury.
