Does anyone have an experience to share about batteries for 6 volt systems? My old one appears to be shot at 6 years. It had over 800 Cranking Amps. The local auto parts stores only carry one choice in a six volt battery - 550 CA, take it or leave it. Exide has a full page color add in November Hemmings for their new Orbital battery and a website, with no specifics about product offerings, other than a claim of an equivalent 1000 CA within the first five seconds of cranking. Considering that I want to start my '55 Plymouth (6 cylinder) during the winter months and maybe even drive it on good days, what do I need? Is 430 Cold Cranking Amps enough? For $31.95 it couldn't be much of a battery. Thanks in advance for your advice. Bob McGrath '55 Plymouth Savoy
