Re: [FWDLK] Rear Glass Install Help

Once I put a rear window in my 64 Dodge. I put the weather strip on the
window first. Then placed a plastic coated electrical wire in the grove
around the outside of the weather strip. Placed the window in place and
pulled the wire from inside the car to pull the weather strip over the sheet
metal lip of the widow opening. Worked real good. Use a strong cord or
coated wire because you may have to pull hard in some areas. Takes at least
two people.

I watched an installer use a piece of string or possibly wire to pull the
gasket over a windshield once but I have never tried to install one myself,
the string was in the grove of the gasket where the windshield would fit and
the string was pulling the gasket over the windshield as it was pulled out.
