No matter how much you take, it's never any fun to have car problems.  You
can't take everything.  Most fun we've had is in a caravan of other old
cars, or at least one other.  That way no one has to walk anywhere for help.

On one trip we took my '42 DeSoto about 250 miles each way, with a bunch of
'55-'56 DeSotos, one with an Adventurer engine.  They wanted to cruise about
60-65, but my ol' flathead was most comfortable at 45-50.  Finally one guy
asked me, "Can't you get a little more speed out of that thing?"  I told
him, "Look, that's like beating your Gramma!"
