All, As you all know the restoration process is full of forks in the road. I'm at one now. Somewhere in the future the 315 in my 56 Dodge Sierra will need a rebuild. (Leaky seals, noisy lifters, smoking) It currently runs and has a new dual exhaust system. I have just found a VERY rusty but very original 56 Coronet 2dr HT with a good running 2 barrel 270. I can get the whole thing for less than $500. My plan is to drop the 270 into my wagon and leave it there for a few years and rebuild my 315 later on. This would make my car much more drivable in the meantime. Not to mention deferring the rebuild costs into the future. My main questions are: 1)Will the 270 bolt on to the 315 exhaust manifolds allowing me to keep the dual exhaust setup I currently have? B) Will the 4B intake from the 315 fit on to the 270? Is a 4B on the 270 a good idea or will I be better off leaving the 2B alone. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John M 1956 Custom Sierra |
