As the Hoemans stated, Chrysler, Inc. probably undercoated every car at the factory as part of their rust preventative process. Undercoating also quiets road noise, and provides some insulation. But nevertheless I still choose not to undercoat the car, and perhaps I will regret it. I guess I was influenced by my friend who restored a 59 Plymouth. He only shows the car, (it is a trailer queen). Although he doesnt do it, he could put mirrors on the showroom floor so spectators sould see the highly detailed underside of the car. and I still think undercoating actually traps moisture behind it, leading to rust. Maybe it is all a matter of proper application.... -----Original Message----- From: Terry & Andree Hoeman <tehoema@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Thursday, July 22, 1999 6:29 PM Subject: Re: [FWDLK] To undercoat or not--- >ON all of the cars which I have worked on which is basically 49,50, and 55 >Chryslers they were factory undercoated. this is evident from the car and >the sales literature. > >Can't speak for others though.
