thats where the idea of Christine came from.... king must have known how quirky these cars are.... last summer, my 1/2 finished 57 fury decided to start cranking itself over in the middle of the night in my driveway- that good old mopar starter woke me, other house members and neighbors up.... it did it because it had a clear break for the street and was aggravated at having sat for 7 years. actually it was a rainy night, some water found its way into the solenoid, loosened some internal corrosion and shorted the relay into cranking w/o ignition voltage. but here's what i couldnt believe, after 13 or more consecutive on/off cranking minutes, niether battery cable was even warm when i pulled 1 off to stop the cranking. starter failed 4 starts later the next day [wonder y] plus i had a christine [clone] but it seemed as if it broke itself each time i took it out instead of fixing....... anyone interested in a 4dr 57 belv?? V8 torqueflite, new seat upholstery, allegedly 8,9xx orig miles?? hard to believe by cosmetics, but no wear on the pedals, strut bushings, front end bushings, original appearing brakes, as well as the unadjusted parking brake that grads a 3"pull. inquire privately. jim |
