Quite a few odd Mopars and GM products were made and shipped, especially in the late 60's (eg: The Olds W30 Wagons), TA Challengers with wrong hoods etc. I worked 6 years in an auto plant and saw quite a few cars made that weren't by the book (option book that is). Most were for upper management or shows. Unfortunately, documentation for late 50's cars is sketchy and therfore hard to prove. Another example comes from a tape of old promos I have. This one compares 427 Galaxies with 409 Impalas. Both comparison cars are 4 door sedans ! Who knows, maybe after that Hot Rod issue came out with the 57 Plymouth called "Suddenly" with the swapped 392, several buyers demanded that engine be put into their new car.. ya just never know.
