There's been some chat about the push-button trans. When I swaped a 440 with the newer 727 trans into my Christine, I was determined to make the push-buttons work. It took about a week of " custom engineering " to get it right. I weakened the detents in the trans lever by grinding the bumps off and weakening the spring. Then I beefed up the button mechinism with some welded on strips of metal. A boat cable connects them. Now R=drive, D=rev., and L=park !!! But it works beautiful.
