Hey guys, I have been working on a 57 Windsor 2 dr hardtop for what seems like an eternity. I've been scrounging parts from here and there for months, probably years, to get this baby back together. It's been a real labor. Bought the car from a wrecking yard in Southern Oregon after trying to get it for 10 years, and now I've had it for 5 years, and done a lot of work on it with help form a friend in Roseburg, and a fellow forwardlooker in Sutherlin who has a simply flawless 57 Fury - lots of inspiration. Anyhow. I just got hold of another 57 Windsor. This one is a four door sedan, shell pink and white, with all the parts I need to finish the body of my car. Engine and tranny is missing though. I can't bear to cut this four door up, so I'm going to put it back together too, but the two door is first. Probably put a newer drive train in the four door - 383/TF and so on. ANybody ever done any brake upgrades on one of these cars? Like newer drum brakes at least or maybe (oh baby) disc brake set up? Somebody made a comment not too long ago about retro fitting discs to a 57 Plymouth. I sure would like to know what you did and how. I love my 57 and I'd like to upgrade the brakes to something a little newer and a little safer. I know the "real" brakes were adequate, but I'd like to be able to really stop if I have to. Thanks for all your help guys! Mark MoPar Man on the Oregon Coast |
