Re: [FWDLK] HEI ignitions

Hi all
In the mid seventies I installed a Hall Effect kit in a Jeep I had with
an AMC six in it, all it was was a coil that bolted in place of the points
and connected up with the same wires I think and a cup shaped metal piece
with slots cut in it that fit under the rotor and passed by or through the
coil piece to act as the points. There were no other pieces as far as I can
remember and it didn't take any higher current than the regular points set
up, it used the original coil too. It made for easier starts and smoother
running unless twenty years have just made it seem better than it really
was. I don't remember ever having a problem with it though.
