My guess would have been a 56, because there are 4 pushbuttons in the picture for a PowerFlite. 
In 57, they advertised the TorqueFlite with 5 pushbuttons.

Every month Desert Valley Auto Parts (DVAP)  has a picture of an old car's interior or other part to have you guess the origin (see below).  This was pretty simple for Mopar folks.  Interesting.

The G.T.D. picture looks like a 1957 Dodge truck (D100?).  Great hard-working vehicle.  Could be a 56, but my money is on 57.....
