Jack, The spark plug answer is probably as simple as AutoLite has changed their numbering system. I would consult their web site for a current P/N recommendation. NOS plugs should be fine. Champion plugs also have a long history with Mopars. The "spring things" are intended to be placed over the plug wires to keep them together so the plug wire cover doesn't pinch the wires when the cover is installed. I like to use them in addition to the "U" clips that are on the studs for the wire cover screws. Hi All,
In my 1955 Imperial, the spark plugs that are in it are AutoLite AGR52. In my Imperial book, it states it should take AutoLite 4GS-175. Does anyone know the difference in the 2 plugs? I just bought a box of 10 NOS AutoLite 4GS-175 off Ebay to put in the car. Also what is the purpose of the little metal spring like things that go in the top of the spark plug hole over the spark plug wire?
Thanks in Advance,
Jack
