Thanks to all who helped. The tank that caused my inquiries ended up having a severely rusted bung plug. I got it freed up though. My other tank was much easier to remove the plug. I noticed that some form of form-in-place gasket material was used
to seal the plug. Any recommendations on a replacement material. I think I will try making a fluorosilicone gasket. Are there other recommendations?
