[FWDLK] Old Car Wanted Update

Because Grandson's dad has got wind of this venture, car must be nearby and not running for my grandson to learn. I do not have a nearby reference yet from him, as I am making it very clear that this is a chance to help keep a teen on the right path of growing up.    Again, it is preferred number one, to not be running and can be a junk car. Complete if possible, so he can learn all the aspects of car disassembly.
   Even a blown engine is fine. It is a learning tool. The reason for no or very low rust issues is no torches here for taking apart. So, the tools are here already for such a project. Nothing newer than a 70 of anything.
   My son, who is in Calif restores cars for a living and the grandson saw his shop and showed interest and I told daughter that when we gave our son a non running car, he had no time to get into other forms of trouble and that non running car helped guide him to a path of construction instead of destruction. Even a wrecked, non running is acceptable.
   My son Sean has a lot of parts for the 60 Dodge and Plymouths and they are an easy fix from all the spare parts he can supply. But, we are not limiting this to those 2 year-makes.
   A lot of the time is learning first, removal and installation. The learning to rebuild will be secondary as we are trying to occupy that spare teenage time that's get them into trouble.
   For the sake of further questions on distance, lets assume a 300 miles radius is a basic rule at present. Texas, Michigan are just too far for such a project and it is just a learning tool. Hope this helps.   joe machado   in Destin, Florida
