OK; upon further review (of 40-Years): Here is Blackie Pitt's 1956 Fury, at the 9/3/56 Darlington "Southern 500". At/in earlier races, Blackie is credited with driving a 56 Fart or a Booick, (or, even, a 55 Olds, at Daytona). It's unclear when Blackie began driving his 56 PLY, because his race number is always #59, but, he "drove" a 56 Booick on 5/6/56, but a PLY in the next race, on 5/10/56. However, on 5/27/56, Blackie was back in Brownie's "56 Buick".On and after 7/1/56, Blackie is continuously officially credited with driving a 56 PLY (all of Blackie's rides were owned by "Brownie Pitt").Johnnie Allen's last race (officially) in a 55 PLY was on 6/10/56 (race #25). His first official "1956 PLY" race occurred on 7/1/56 (race # 29), again driving Spook Crawford's car.So, at least Blackie got one of the hot-rod Fury's, and it appears that Spook Crawford's Fury was ready to race (assuming that the NASCAR 'model year-info' is correct) as of 7/1/56.BTW, in that race, at the 100 mile Weaverville .5 mile track, Blackie crashed out on lap 36 (of 200) and got next-to last place (28th), and apparently received no money for his efforts. Johnnie finished in 12th, and won $100.00. Lee Petty, in a Dodge, won the race and won $850.00.
