CCA and physical case size go hand in hand. The larger the physical size, the more plates and therefore, the more CCA (cold crank amps) that can be designed into the battery case. Based on my old battery sizing charts, the only '59 Dodge that will accept a group 27 case is police and taxi applications. I would look for a group 24 in the largest CCA rating you can find.

Size isn't as big of a deal as is CCA... A 59 dodge with a 326 or 361 should run a 600 CCA or better
