[FWDLK] Fw: [Imperial-Club] Chrysler : Imperial HARDTOP in Chrysler | eBay Motors

When I spoke with the dealership they gave me a much lower price, but all I was comfortable at the time going was $7,500.00, but now with the clubs insight and a much more detailed look plus information on the cars history, I have decided to move on with my search.
What I would like is a 1956/1963 in close to number 2 condition or a very strong #3 car.
There is a very nice 56 at Gesswein motors but is a bit out of reach in terms of what I want to spend...

The buy it now price is $17,9000. The current bidding is at $7,500. After looking closer at the photos, my belief is it’s bid too high already. There’s a lot of careless paint spray under the hood which always scares me. Particularly when some of the areas not covered show rust. That makes me think they just covered the worst rust. If the seller really expects to get his price, he should have pulled the engine out and bead blasted everything, then use the correct colors to repaint. Some of the exterior shots also show paint touchups. The interior looks very nice, but obviously has something sprayed on everything and makes it look too shiny. Also, note in the interior shots, the center floor air registers are supposed to fold upwards when the system is off. Since they are down, this suggests vacuum issues.I see this as a car that was well cared for much of its life, but was allowed to sit for many years without use in a less then ideal environment.

I’d want to inspect this car carefully and drive it before offering the $ 4-5 thousand I feel its worth.

It sure catches my eye because it’s the same combination as my first Imperial bought in 1969. I don’t see anything too wrong with it. It appears the engine compartment was painted bright white & the engine color isn’t correct either. The interior looks like everything is original and very nice. If it’s as good in person as it looks in the photos, it may be worth the current bid. No way would I buy at his asking price. The top would need to come down to justify that.

I am thinking of buying this 63 Imperial, anyone know this car? What do you guys see in the listing that looks bad or good......
The AC blows almost cool, so maybe just a recharge? I asked about rust because it did come from Wisconsin....If I get close with the guy there.
I will send an inspector as I can not make it myself. I do trust this dealer as I have bought from him before.
