Don't think that anybody's mentioned this, on this thread, but the 350 B block was the standard engine on the 1958 Custom Royal and Custom Sierra wagons. The 361 single-4 bbl engine was the standard D500, with the dual carb 361 as the Super D500 engine. Neil Vedder eddee@xxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: HI DAN No bearing caps??? That is NGYou will have to get some from a 361 or 383 and have the block align bored to make it useable. The 350 was one year only---1958 It was put in the GOLDEN COMMANDO PLYMOUTH--(could be ANY MODEL!!)It was also used in MOSTLY the 2bbl version in base DESOTOS and MOSTLY a 4bbl version for DODGE and DODGE station wagonsI have 2 GOLDEN COMMANDO PLYMOUTH blocks,,,both are casting # of 1737629 That does not mean you dont have a 350. There may have been more than one casting time and place for the 350. The 361s had about 5 different casting numers throughout the years. On the front pad of the block,,,along with the sn,,,should be what it was used forie: L-350 would be for the plymouth Is your block UNUSED? Did you measure the bore??? HAVE FUN ED ECKERSON On Tue, Nov 22, 2011 at 1:55 AM, Dan Davids wrote: Today I picked up a 350 block from a fellow in Everett, WA. It's just a bare block -- no crank, bearing caps, heads, etc. Can you guys help me verify that it's the real deal? Here are the numbers on the block: casting no. 1461416 date 7-15 no. on pad at front 5562119057Is this the VIN from the car it came from? If so, what does it decode to?Lastly, other than the 58 Fury, which other cars could have had 350s in them? Thanks for any help.
