Larry, Drum brake master cylinders are designed to keep a small residual pressure in the brake line. Disk master cylinders have no residual pressure, because there are no return springs in a disk caliper. Could it be that the drum shoes return springs force the fluid back up the incoming tube and m/c designed for disc front/drum rear have some internal change that allows the calipers to release?
