Re: [FWDLK] Looking for Left front fender trim parts for 1957 Dodge Custom Royal

John you (we all should!) have at least Comprehensive coverage
on our cars, as well as General Liability....and Collision, too.

Hitting an animal is a Comprehensive loss, and Comp-coverage typically
is not expensive to buy and usually carries a considerably lower
deductible than does Collision coverage.

If this loss is covered, you can mark-up whatever parts prices you pay, to
represent their 'retail' cost, and you can include the money that it will take to re-chrome and/or de-dent-and-polish the used parts that you will receive (from whatever source), to reflect the condition-appearance of your car's finishings.

For the stainless steel parts, I have had wonderful results from having used
kingoftrim.com

You can check out their website....and be amazed.

If this loss were mine, I'd have 'my' parts supplier merely directly ship the parts to 'wherever' and get a firm quote from them for their restoration costs, including their shipping charges to you, after they make the salvage yard repair parts look like-new.

Meanwhile, you can get a local body shop's estimate to repair/paint the car and for
them to install 'your' repair parts.

If you want to do some/all of the repair work, yourself, your insurance carrier should be able to pay you the going labor rate for your doing that work, or, at the least (depending upon the 'reasonableness' of your insurance company) the 'wholesale' commercial labor
rate for doing that work, yourself.

Your insurance adjuster should be thrilled that you are able to tell 'him' what the agreed- acceptable repair costs will be, without him, or your body shop, having to go looking for
suitable repair parts, that might not be acceptable to you.

Anyone know a good used body parts supplier (other than Desert Valley Auto

My ’57 Dodge Custom Royal was nailed by a deer last weekend. Until now, my
car was mostly original with original two-tone white-over-red-over-white
paint. Now I’ll need to repaint the red on pretty much the entire front end
so that everything matches properly. Heartbreaking, but at least it’s
fixable!

I need the following trim pieces:

1) Eyebrow trim on upper fender edge over headlights.

2) Chrome spear on side that separates the two different paint colors.

This is my first time looking for body parts, so I could really use some
help locating suppliers.

Thanks for your help!
