No doubt that cars came down the line with omissions or mistakes. These
were production cars built by humans on a tight deadline. So this is likely to
happen.
It becomes an issue when someone claims rarity, and therefore demands a
premium price, based on this. The burden of proof is on them to show that the
car came from the factory like this, and was not added later.
If someone likes the way a car looks, runs and drives, then originality
may not be an issue for them. The car is worth what someone is willing to
pay.
