Let's see..if a random selection is taken (the 20+ish observed serviving examples), of a known population (1,163 built) , an extrapolated conclusion or projection may be made from those observations. Ever heard of voter polling?Doesn't mean that "the conclusion" is necessarily true, just that it be reasonably probable and/or predictable, and presumes that the sampling be unbiased and representative of the population surveyed (every surviving car is credited, and presumes that there isn't any unusual causation for the surviving of any particular color-combination-car). It IS a real, heavily-optioned, Single-4 D500 Regal Lancer, (Bronze-on-White body) which allegedly may have been a Florida 'Show Car', originally. Mr. Lejins had its current two four barrel carb set-up be installed on it sometime after he purchased the car. Although some were undoubtedly built, no known Super D500 Regalsare known to exist, of the 1,163 which were built, in one of the 4-available color schemes, and, altho there is presently no known production break-outs between those four color combinations, I happen to believe that the rarest colorcombination may be the Black-on-Bronze body scheme, from my observations of the surviving examples of them. The car he purchased at least a dozen years ago is equipped with virtually every factory option and is thought by some (including me) to have been the Dodge show car at the 1958 Miami Auto Show. Aivar purchased the car when it appeared on the cover (as I recall) of Mopar Collector's Guide. It is a FABULOUS car with fantastic original interior.----- Original Message ----- *From:* charles nelson <mailto:modelrcer@xxxxxxxxx> *Sent:* Sunday, December 05, 2010 3:57 AM *Subject:* Carbs I have a question about the 1958 Dodge Regal Lancer. Was it ever a D500? Did it ever have the 2x4 carbs and if so on what engines?
