AND WEAR A MASK. BENZENE IS A
CARCINOGEN.
Ron,
Put gasoline in a spray bottle, spray the
undercoating lightly several times. The gasoline will soften the
undercoating and it should be a lot easier to scrape off with a putty knife.
Sand blasting is only good if the piece being sand blasted is OFF THE CAR.
Sand from sandblasting is famous for getting into the engine.
PS. When spraying the gasoline to soften the undercoating there
is only one rule---NO SMOKING!!!!!!

Hey Gang -
My
59 Dodge's inner fenders have factory undercoating that I'd like to
remove. Using a torch is definitely out. Sandblasting may remove some,
but I'd like to chemically remove all of it. Does anyone have a method
that will disolve or at least soften the undercoating to the point that
it'll come off easily with a putty knife ?
Thanks,
Ron
