years ago, Dave had a list and I thought he used to
print it in the back of the calendar.

[FWDLK] 56 v/8
I have a 56 plaza
Matt
Mobile
Do we have any numbers on how many ForwardLook cars we
presently have accounted for on the List?
I have a 57 Coronet 4dr Sedan, a 57 Coronet D-500 4dr HT, a 58
Coronet 2dr HT, a 59 Coronet 4dr Sedan, and a 60 Saratoga 4Dr
Sedan. I know that's not as many as some and more than most
(especially relevant when we still have over 15 inches of snow remaining
from the 20 or so that we recently received in northern Ohio).
Just glad that the groundhog only predicted 6 more weeks of
"Global Warming".

that is a good
question... many factors to consider.... my guess would be about
2000 left
considering 57-59s didnt fare as well with rust as the
better-built 55-56 bodies... there should be more left. there are
always cars hiding, undiscovered as of today... i just unearthed a 57
firedome last summer, in an attached garage since 1973, and then a 57
fairlane500 right before christmas in a failing garage- off the road since
[ironically similar] 1972.. as per inspection stickers, and owner's
attestment.
i've seen somewhat less 55-56s at shows compared to the
57-9s.. but thats also just a popularity factor, but back to numbers...
i've presonally had 51 57-58 plymouths, and know where they all
went, considering i have only 10 now... there are 56 57 furys registered
with the golden fin society last time i looked at the count, dont recall
how many 58s..... i've sold over 200 sets of my sport tone inserts
worldwide, and in an early-90s car census, [this was shortly after the
filming of IQ- 3 54 desotos hunted down through DMV records- they made a
4dr into a convt for the movie- and my friend has the 1 and only 4dr
conv't form the movie] this census probed dmv records through the
US- seems invasive, and i'm going to contact him on getting that info once
again- but at the time there were apparently only 500 54 desotos titled
throughout the US- i assume this is untransferred/active/dormant titles...
there were somewhere in the mid 1900 57 plymouths left in the eyes of the
DMV... though not a novel number like 1957 left!
just some useless
relative info i guess, but considering the production numbers were similar
through the 50s, and 55-56 bodies took a little longer to rust, there
should be the same or more out there that the later fwdlks... just waiting
to be found- and a movie made using one to add to the popularity. if
it weren't for Christine, the only call to fame for that body would be the
Fury- for its specialty factor.

Hi,
My 1955 Plymouth Belvedere has the 241 V8 and Powerflite trans.
It does about 2800 RPM at 60 MPH with the 3.54 rear axle. Also, just
curious if anyone knows, how many '55 Plymouths do you guess are left in
existence? Being from eastern Massachusetts, I have only seen one
other one on the road in my lifetime. I am 30.
