On eBay about 20 times a fellow had a 55 Plymouth with the 260 and Hemi
heads. He claimed the dealer did it for his wife at the time. Based on the
appearance it did not look so and someone had at one times painted it up
pretty well, as I recall it never sold.

One major problem might be that the Dodge heads, along with The Ply'spistons' "negative stroke" (?, maybe, where the pistons' overall height places their tops at a plane below that of the block's deck surface).....would create a decreased compression ratio, due to the Hemi's combustion chamber's extra volume. This is precisely what occurs when 57 Dodge Hemi heads are placedonto a Dodge Poly engine block, as the Hemi pistons are taller, and requirevalve reliefs to be located onto the piston-tops.Of course, taller pistons' installation takes care of any initial c.r. decrease.Neil Vedder Bjwt56@xxxxxxx wrote:Ron:The 55-56 Dodge Hemi heads will fit only the 55-56 Dodge and Plymouth V8's according to my parts book. Part number is 1615886. Incidentally, 1615886 will not fit the 56 Fury according to the same book. The 56 Fury head part number is 1731609.John ************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go tohttp://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1 <http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1>************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go to http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1 ************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go to http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1
