Re: [FWDLK] Need to borrow someone's spare driveline rubber "dust shield"

Kragen's had a lot of CV joint "split" (2-piece, that gets glued
together) boots, to choose from.
The difficult match turned out to be at the large-end, with most of the
prospects being
too large.

I provisionally (can return) bought two boot kits, and one of them
reportedly can be adapted (cut-down, on the big end) to fit our trunion
joint drivelines.

I should be able to photo its installation, tomorrow.

The boots on my car were still perfect after 50 years when I replaced the trans and installed a modern style slip joint/U-joint.

If the repos do not hold up, they are just made of the wrong kind of rubber. Whoever makes these should be using the same material as the C joint boots use. CV joints flex a lot in turns, where our drive shaft boots hardly flex at all.
