Check every cable connection. Remove them and clean the connections. Check
your cables for corrosion down in the cable end. If that doesn't help check
the Amps that the starter is drawing. It could be your starter needs
rebuilding if it is drawing to much current.

It sounds like you have too much resistance in either the switch or the wiring. If it was my car I would hide a two terminal push button switch under the dash, with wires running from the battery post to the Pertronix hookup, and use it as a booster while I was cranking the engine. A single throw, single pole relay mounted under the hood would work great also but I expect those may not be all that common in the six volt variety,Mike At 08:36 AM 5/25/2009, Charles Deyoe Jr. wrote:Hi everyone I have been having problems with my car starting and last spring { 2008} I brought the Pertronix ignition pertronix system hoping this would solve the problem. well last summer I put up with the car starting hard again. I called and was told the voltage was too low when I was starting the car. Well today I finally checked the power and this is what I came up with. the car is the 6 volt positive ground system. I turned the key on and there is 5.89 volts at the black wire feeding the pertronix ignitor { I was told it should be about 6 volts so I think this is OK } When I turned the key to start the car the Power DROPS down to 3.6 volts or some were in this area ??? My question would be were should I start looking for the voltage drop ? The ignition switch, the starting relay or the starter!!!!!!************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go to http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1 ************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go to http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1
